Every day some person is knocking at the door of the church looking for help. They may feel they have no where else to turn. In an effort to help them, churches refer them to us to screen and see if the needs are specific, legitimate and managable. We would then connect the person with an agency that is set up to help with certain things, or we connect with a church to fill in the gaps when agencies can’t meet the needs.

We have been diligent to add over 90 new donors this year who have given gifts to the ministry to help support our operational expenses, but our income is still over $8000 less then it was at this time last year. For a little ministry that has a huge impact. We are getting over 300 families calling each month for help and we try to refer them to agencies to help, but when agencies fall short, we try to recruit our churches to fill in the gaps and the gaps are getting bigger and bigger.

Why is it so vitally important to mobilize the Church?

THERE IS NO GROUP LIKE THE CHURCH

The church is the only group Jesus built to do His work, and nothing can destroy it. Jesus said,”…I will build my church, and the gates of hell will not overcome it.” Matthew 16:18

THERE IS NO GROUP LIKE THE CHURCH

The church is the only group large enough to change our city. There are over 600 churches in Pierce County: that is 600 branch offices of the largest helping agency in the county. If it were a business, it would be the largest by far. God owns the biggest business in town ~ it’s huge and it’s in every neighborhood of the city.

THERE IS NO GROUP LIKE THE CHURCH

No other group cares for people outside their group like the Christian Church. What other religions care for those outside thier faith that are hurting, as  much as Christians do? Christians are unique in the way they care for others. If the church won’t help, who will?

No other group has the Gospel of Jesus Christ that can bring salvation and change lives for eternity. That’s the only hope for our city and the people who live here.

The church is filled with people who are called and gifted to serve.
