We have the following volunteer opportunities:
In our Clearinghouse Phone Center we need volunteers to help with data entry and keying information into our database so our churches have the most up to date information available. We can also use help by Christians who are comfortable helping on our phone line, either by being a verifier, or helping as our receptionist. If you’d like to volunteer at this site contact Judy at 253-531-2365.
In our 2nd Hand Christian bookstore we need volunteers who will help sort donated items, help key new books into an excel spreadsheet so we can get them onto our bookstore website and errand runners. Errand runners will help take items we don’t sell like regular clothing, to our partnering church’s clothing bank so they can give them to clients in need. Errand runners are needed once a month on a Friday to deliver by 1:00 to the clothing bank when then are open. We could also use helpers to help recruit donated items from the community such as Prom Dresses and Musical Instruments. If you’d like to volunteer here please contact Sherry Phinisey at 2853-468-6236

Every Thursday from 5:00 p.m.to 6:30 p.m. starting April 2nd Mt. View Lutheran Church in Edgewood will be hosting a free dinner. The food bank is also open every Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. This is open to any Pierce County resident. The address is 3505 122nd Ave. E. Edgewood, WA 98372 .
Mt. View is asking to partner with other churches to serve families in our community. They are looking for serving teams to join the rotation to help serve meals. These teams would help set up, serve the meal, and tear down afterward. Serving teams are not responsible for meal planning or cooking. However, if meal teams are able to help with the cost of food this is greatly appreciated. Of course, you are invited to share in the meal as well!
For more information on the meal or ways to volunteer please call Jesie Holden, Community Coordinator at 253-826-4329 or email her at jholden@mtviewlutheran.org .
